Fourth of July Weekend

We had a very nice relaxing Fourth of July! We decided to stay home since we hadn't spent any time with just us for quite awhile. We did a couple projects but mostly just hung out and played with the girls. My aunt and uncle (and their two girls) came over Thursday night for supper and fireworks, we had a great time. Our projects included: making strawberry jam, Jake weeded out the thistle from 2 of the 3 rows of raspberries, and cleaned and repainted a dresser for Susanna (which needed to get done before baby comes). Then on Sunday we went to Fargo to help my sister and her husband move into their new place. They moved back to the area after being states away for 5 years! We are excited they will be living closer now.

Even though they fight A LOT, they do love each other ;-). Addy was belted into her new car seat, Susanna decided to crawl up into her lap.

Susanna playing peek-a-boo between my legs while I was doing dishes.

Snack time after playing in the pool.

Fireworks! We got a couple of fireworks to blow off. We figured Addy would have fun with the sparklers. She also really liked the artillery shells.

Steph and her sparkler.

Jake reading the girls some books before nap time.

Pool time....again ;-).

Susanna started doing this on her own. She picked up this toy and squeezed it with her mouth making water come out. Jake is holding it here so we could get a picture. Later she was doing it and got me pretty good, she thought it was funny to get mommy wet.

Time to go in for baths and supper.

All wrapped up.

Third picking of strawberries.....much, much more to come!

Saturday morning breakfast over the the campfire. The coffee was perking over the fire, it was some really yummy coffee.

Susanna joined us.

The girls are concentrating on eating their cheerios.

The first of the pancakes going on the griddle.

Susanna tired from a long day.

But she still has some smiles in there :-).

Addy trying to "pose" for the picture.

Making jam out of the strawberries we picked. It was a lot to do at one time.

We did 17 pints of freezer jam.

Jared and Stacie are married!

Jared and Stacie tied the knot last weekend! It was a beautiful wedding Mass and reception. We went to Wahpeton a couple days early to be able to spend more time with everyone. Thursday evening we celebrated Johnny's 4th birthday with swimming, pizza, cake and lots of presents.

Addy, Johnny and Lu Lu getting excited for some cake.

We had a big party in Roger and Sue's hotel room, they had a nice big room.

Susanna and Grandma Sue.

Susanna's thinking...."grandpa, you're silly."

Johnny opening the present we got him.

Addy bouncing on a ball they were using in the pool, she was getting ready to go swimming again.

Jake about to jump in.....maybe he was trying to do a superman move?

Addy was scared of the pool for a long time. She had never been in a big pool like that before. She eventually went in and had fun.

Grandma's got both of the youngins.

All four of us in the pool. Susanna really liked the pool, as long as nobody splashed her in the face.

Johnny, Addy and Lu Lu in their flotation devices (I guess the word "floaties" does not exist).

The big kids having a little too much fun with the ball. At one point I got smacked in the face with it on the way other end of the pool.

Elle (Jake's cousin) corralling the children in their flotation devices so they wouldn't get pounced on or hit with the ball.

Addy having fun. I was so glad when she finally went it.

Grandpa and grandma came to say goodnight to the girls. Both girls got a little too riled up ;-).

Susanna was showing off trying to do headstands. Grandma was making sure she didn't fall off the bed.

Friday morning we got some fresh air, there was a nice large open grass spot by the hotel. The kids were having fun with the bubbles they got from grandma and grandpa.

For lunch we went to Stacie's mom's house. It was nice to visit with Stacie's side of the family. Kristina gave Jared and Stacie the quilt she made them for their wedding present. They wrapped her up in it.

It turned out so beautiful!

Susanna loved the slide! She even goes down our little slide now too. She will climb up the stairs all by herself and then sit at the top until you come and put her in a sitting position to go down. She doesn't mind going down by herself.

At the rehearsal. Father Sean was going through everything.

And now they are married!.....okay not until the next day ;-).

And we skip to the dance. Grandpa Loegering was trying to get Addy to dance with him. She was having too much fun twirling around by herself.

Lu Lu, Addy, and Johnny dancing.

Susanna dancing with grandpa Gapp.

Jared and Sue during the parent's dance.

Katie, Thomas and Susanna dancing.

Such a happy girl.

The only person Addy would dance with was her uncle Josiah.

The girls dancing.

My cousin Hope and goddaughter Agnes.

Katie and Thomas dancing with Lu Lu.

Jared and Stacie with the parents.

Addy twirling.

Lu Lu was getting her head into it.

I don't know what Lu Lu was doing here..... ;-).

Starting to get tired....

......but still going.

Awww.....holding hands :-). During the reception, before we ate, the two girls were wrestling on the floor. They didn't seem to mind it too much but I didn't want them getting hurt so I told them to hold hands and be nice to each other. For a long time before we ate they walked around the room holding hands, it was so darling.

There's the prego lady (me :-) and Jake dancing. It was nice to dance together for a couple of songs.

Katie must have really liked this song ;-).

Susanna was getting tired, my dad was trying to entertain her with the lights.

Still holding hands.....

Sitting so cute together.

Johnny was getting tired too.......it had been a long day for all the kids.

Swing dancing....my favorite.

Look at that baby belly!

Jeremiah was tired also.

Rubbing the eyes.....okay, I think it is time to put these kids to bed!

She looks all played out.....I couldn't believe how long she did go and how much she danced!

I even got a dance in with my daddy :-).
