Cookie Making and Pre-Christmas fun

So here it goes, it has been almost a month since I have posted......wow I have a lot of catching up to do! Well, the weekend of Dec. 10th and 11th (right after my last post and when it started getting crazy) my parents came that Friday to watch Addy so Jake and I could go to his work Christmas party (and actually enjoy it this year). On Saturday us, them, my aunt, uncle and cousins made Christmas cookies at our place. It was a very busy day. Our oven was on so long that after awhile it wasn't baking right or hot enough anymore.
Addy playing with her new favorite toy.....a fridge magnet.

Making peanut butter blossoms and Reese's treats.

Addy helping unwrap candy.

She was working pretty hard at getting the Hershey kiss unwrapped.

Cute smile!

Unwrapping a Reese's cup.....I think Jake had to help her finish it before it got destroyed :-).

We had quite the set up. Alicia was rolling out sugar cookies while Dad was rolling out lefse.

For much of the time, the three girls (Addy, Steph and Marisa) played. Steph helped decorate the sugar cookies once they were frosted.

Mom cooking (more like frying) the lefse.

Sunday night (Dec. 11th) Jake, Addy and I went to a Christmas party with our neighbors. It was a lot of fun. Santa came and brought a present for each of the children. Addy's was the last one in the bag. While the other children were getting their presents she was getting so excited to go to Santa. I think the excitement wore off by the time she got hers. You can see from this picture that she was very unhappy.

Pretty smile by the Christmas tree.

Our lovely (and little :-) Christmas tree. Jake and I had wanted to get a real Christmas tree this year but after pricing them out decided that our little 3 foot artificial one would do just fine......for this year anyway.

Looking at baby Jesus.....she got really attached to him.

Goofy girl.

Addy was having fun putting her shoes on her hands one night.

My sweet little girl.

The next Saturday (Dec. 17th and 18th) Marisa and Steph stayed over night at our place. We played outside, on our Wii, and also some card games. We had a fun time with them. The most surprising part was all three girls (them and Addy) were perfect little angels at church the next day! Here Jake is doing a push up with Steph and Marisa on his back. Addy wanted to get on too.

Jake having story time with all three girls before Addy went to bed.

We were very busy before Christmas. We made homemade gifts, baked cookies, cleaned, made some messes, and cleaned again. We went to Minnesota for Christmas and my parents for New Years. Stay tuned for those posts to come (hopefully sooner than later).
