This past weekend we celebrated Addy's 1st Birthday! Happy Birthday to our beautiful daughter, Adelaide Alfreda! She also shared the day with the feast of St. Therese the Little Flower (one of my favorite saints). For a long time she was going to be named after St. Therese but then we changed our mind. She still wanted a connection with the saint because she was a week overdue and ended up being born on St. Therese's feast day! I hope Addy makes this awesome saint a role model for herself and how she should live her life. We were going to have a little "party" for her at Josh and Christine's with Grandpa, Grandma and Josiah. But because we didn't go we had a little celebration with just us. Addy had fun on her birthday. She got to play with daddy, spend time outside and have a WHOLE piece of cake!
After Jake got home from work we had lunch and then he played with Addy. Addy loves when daddy makes her fly through the air.
She got some mosquito bites a couple days earlier on her forehead.....the spots swelled up. Addy is taking a breather before going.......
......CRAZY with daddy. She likes when daddy "wrestles" around with her. She is a tough little girl. She will hit her head pretty hard or fall down and will get back up without a cry......acting like nothing happened.
Pre-cake yumminess! When I got done mixing up her cake (an angel food cake from scratch) I thought it would be fun if she could lick some of the batter off the spatula. She wanted more and more.

Addy's birthday supper.....she had pizza! We figured she would like that over other things. Even though it was her birthday she still had to eat some green beans......I'm such a "mean" mommy :-).

Addy's Birthday cake. So.....I thought we had candles but couldn't find them. They will probably show up like other things we have "lost" after the move....a year or so later! Anyways, we had to make a "make-shift" candle (living 15 miles from town). The "candle" was a tooth pick with a paper towel wrapped around it on top and Jake holding the lighter on it the whole time so it would stay lit. That is what I call a red-neck candle. You'll have to watch the video to see it.

She scarfed down her cake in no time! The cake is so sticky and sugary that she needed a bath. She got it all over in her hair.
