A PUPPY!!!!

We are getting a puppy!! All three of us are very excited. On Saturday we found out that Jake's youngest brother, Josiah, was getting a puppy from a litter in Minnesota (Jake's Grandpa knows the guy who he was getting the puppy from). The guy has four pure breed golden retriever's from Poland. He normally breeds them and sells them for a hefty price. It just so happens that one of the females got out and got pregnant by a black lab. He had nine puppies that he was giving away to get rid of them. We told Jake's grandpa that we would totally take a puppy, as we were just on the hunt for one. There were black pups and cream/golden pups. We are getting a male puppy with cream coloring (the golden retriever look). Now we have to go shopping to get ready for the new addition to our family!

On a side note... we got a lot done around the yard and to the house this weekend with the help of my father, mother and brother. On Friday Jake and I spent two hours (after Addy had gone to bed) cutting up part of a large tree that had fell last summer in our front yard. It went well except for the high winds that were gusting up to 40 mph. When Jake was cutting with the chainsaw I couldn't be near him at all, the wood chips were flying everywhere due to the winds.

Saturday was a cooler, calmer day. Before my family arrived around noon Jake and I cut up some more fallen trees. It went faster and a lot better than the night before. When they arrived my dad unloaded the tiller and started tilling the spot for our garden. Jake and Jason started installing the first window and mom helped me get some lunch ready. By the end of the day dad had the garden tilled four times, Jake and Jason had gotten both windows installed and trimmed, mom cleaned up some of my flower gardens, and I was trying to keep Addy happy. I would call that a very successful day! We could not have done it without their help.

When they were putting in the new window, before it was screwed in, Jake was holding it but took both hands off to grab something. When he looked up the window was falling towards him, about to take him out on the ladder. Luckily Jason was there to grab the window, so thankfully no injuries happened.

We gave Addy a bath last night. She loves it when we are both there for bath time, especially daddy. Unfortunately Jake isn't always there, but she still enjoys those times with mommy.

Last night Jake and I went out for a walk around the property to look at what still needed to be cut down and to plan out where to plant some new trees. We saw a great big owl come out of one of the trees. It is a bummer that we live so far out in the country but I love the country living with the peace and quiet, the wildlife and the space. I would not trade that for living in town.

Another week is upon us and the first part of it looks like it will be very nice weather. Hopefully we can get some more stuff done outside. There better not be anymore snow coming...for goodness sake it's MAY!
